  • 8 pieces osso buco (Choose bone-in pieces for maximum flavor)
  • 1 unit onion (Chopped)
  • 1 unit carrot (Chopped)
  • 1 unit celery stalk (Chopped)
  • to taste unit butter (For sautéing)
  • 1 bundle bouquet garni (For flavoring the broth)
  • to coat unit all-purpose flour (For dredging)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 12 tablespoons white wine (For depth of flavor)
  • 500 milliliters beef broth
Instructions
    Cooking Steps
  1. Sauté the base

Sauté the carrot, onion, and celery in butter until softened. Set aside.

Ensure the vegetables are tender but not browned.
  2. Prepare the osso buco

Dredge the osso buco in flour and brown them in the same pan as the vegetables.

This adds flavor and helps thicken the sauce.
  3. Combine ingredients

Return the sautéed vegetables to the pan and add the white wine. Then, add the beef broth and tomato sauce.

Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan for added flavor.
  4. Slow cook

Cook over low heat until the osso buco is tender, about 2 hours.

Keep the lid on to retain moisture.
  5. Serve

Serve with sautéed potatoes and watercress for a complete meal.

    Enjoy your delicious osso buco!
