Ingredients for Greek Brown Rice
    Main ingredients
  • 1 small carrot (diced or grated)
  • ½ small red onion (finely chopped)
  • 50 g green beans or peas (fresh, chopped)
  • ½ small red bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 leaf bay leaf
  • ¼ cup brown rice (rinsed)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • to taste salt
  • to taste garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp green olives (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp raisins
Instructions
    Cooking Steps
  1. Prepare the Ingredients

    Wash the brown rice thoroughly and let it drain. Dice the carrot, red onion, and bell pepper. Chop the green beans.

  2. Sauté the Vegetables

    Sauté the chopped red onion in a pan until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.

  3. Combine and Cook

    Add the diced vegetables and sauté on high heat for 2 minutes. Then stir in the brown rice and mix well. Pour in the boiling water and add the bay leaf.

  4. Simmer the Rice

    Mix the ingredients, cover the pan, reduce the heat, and let it simmer until the water is absorbed. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  5. Serve

    Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm. You can mix in olives and raisins for added flavor.
