    Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cube (25g) fresh yeast
  • ½ teaspoon (5g) salt
  • ½ tablespoon (7g) sugar
  • 1 cup (230ml) water (Warm)
  • 2 cups (370g) cassava flour
  • 4 ½ tablespoons (36g) vegetable shortening
  • 2 tablespoons (16g) olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon (5g) annatto powder
  • Filling Ingredients
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 6 units (24g) green olives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (1g) oil (For sautéing)

    Preparation
  1. Make the Dough

    To prepare the dough, heat the water until warm. In a bowl, mix the warm water with the yeast to dissolve it. Add the remaining ingredients, mix until you have a smooth dough, and knead for 5 minutes. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes covered with a cloth. Roll out the dough and cut into circles about 1.5 cm thick, add the filling, and seal the pies.

  2. Prepare the Filling

    For the filling, sauté the ground beef with your desired seasonings and oil, then add the olives and set aside.

  3. Bake the Pies

    Combine the olive oil and annatto powder, and brush this mixture over the pies. Bake in a medium oven for 40 minutes.
