Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Orange Glazed Ham
    Main Ingredients
  • 1 piece ham (Choose a medium-sized ham)
  • 240 milliliters orange juice (Freshly squeezed is best)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (Softened)
  • as needed pieces cloves (For garnishing)
  • 240 milliliters orange juice (for sauce) (Freshly squeezed is ideal)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (For thickening sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon works well)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
  • 480 milliliters orange segments (For garnish and flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint (Chopped, for the sauce)
Instructions
    Preparation
  1. Soak and Prepare the Ham

Soak the ham in orange juice for 2 hours. Using the tip of a knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern. At each vertex of the diamond, insert cloves. Place the ham in a medium baking dish and dot with pieces of butter.

  2. Cooking
  3. Bake the Ham

Drizzle with orange juice, cover with aluminum foil, and bake in a preheated medium oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil, baste with the juices that have formed in the dish, and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Set aside.

  4. Prepare the Sauce
  5. Make the Orange Sauce

For the sauce, in a medium saucepan, combine orange juice, brown sugar, honey, cornstarch, mustard, grated ginger, and poultry seasoning. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. Add the orange segments and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove and stir in chopped mint.

  6. Serving
  7. Serve the Dish

Serve the ham on a platter, drizzle with some sauce, and place the remaining sauce in a separate gravy boat. Garnish with orange segments.
